Synopsis
There is a stranger outside Caroline's house.

Michele Campbell has done it again! what a fast paced and utterly addictive read.
Told from two perspectives firstly Caroline's married to Jason Stark for over 20 years.
Well off they have recently built a lavish beach house But things take a shocking turn on the night of their housewarming party.
when her husband turns up late with a Russian woman who Caroline thinks is his mistress humiliated when she then confronts him Jason leaves and he cuts off all contact to add more woe Caroline finds their bank accounts are empty? Convinced that her husband is having an affair, heartbroken and upset she walks on the sand and bumps into Aidan, a stranger on the beach.
Our second narrator Aidan Callaghan a local bartender with a violent history and murky bad boy reputation in this small town, Caroline in a desperate bid for comfort and revenge she initiates a one night stand
Here the story flips between the 2 narrators and we learn the differing details in the two contrasting perspectives To Caroline, Aiden is a crazy stalker, obsessed with her after a quick one night stand, and a danger to her family. Aiden says he and Caroline were lovers, and Caroline asked for his protection against her husband. Who do we believe? what do we trust? It's clear one of them is lying, but who?
This was a clever and very complex read, to pick through the details given by the characters to work through the lies and red herrings made for thrilling and suspenseful read, not knowing which way the next page or chapter would take you. A brilliant mix of domestic and crime based psychological thrillers.
