"When everything you say is a lie, can you even remember the truth? "
Synopsis
Annie lives a quiet, contained, content life. She goes to work. She meets her friend. She’s kind of in a relationship. She’s happy. Not lonely at all.
If only more people could see how friendly she is — how eager to help and please. Then she could tick “Full Happy Life” off her list. But no one sees that side of Annie, and she can’t understand why.
That all changes the night Chloe Hills disappears. And Annie is the last person to see her. This is her chance to prove to everybody that she’s worth something.
That is, until she becomes a suspect.
Drenched in atmosphere and taut with tension, All Your Little Lies takes a hard look at why good people do bad things.
My Review
I was hooked at the blurb with this and that feeling did not let go through this whole read!
Annie Marwood is a socially awkward young woman who works a mudane IT job in London.
One disastrous evening she after having one to many at an office party humiliates herself in front of her boss who she is in love with, kicked out of the event and sent home to sleep it off, Annie decided to go to her bosses flat and lets herself in with his spare key and enjoys the time around his things.
Next day on her way to work and she sees a picture in the local paper of a young girl Chloe aged 12 who has gone missing, and it is Annie's car also shown in the photograph although Annie has no recollection of seeing the missing girl?
Confused at what she has seen and scared to admit she was drunk and should not have been driving, Annie takes this opportunity to join in the hunt for Chloe but her marked lacking social skills mean things start to backfire the other searchers find her odd and it is not long before she comes to the attention of the police and the lies start mounting and the secrets she is keeping start spilling because Annie has a past she wants no one to uncover.
The storyline in this read what what kept me hooked as Annie as a character was so very hard to relate to you feel a sadness and pity at what she is going through and its not until the huge twists in the tale that the true reason behind Annie past give way to a flood of sympathy.
This read was a real page turner and kept me guessing right till the end, packed with a bubbling tension, this the perfect mystery thriller.
