"One Kidnapping, One Liar, One Chance "

Synopsis

FEAR

Tuva has been living clean in southern Sweden for four months when she receives horrifying news. Her best friend Tammy has gone missing.

SECRETS

Racing back to Gavrik at the height of Midsommar, Tuva fears for Tammy’s life. Who has taken her, and why? And who is sabotaging the small-town search efforts?

LIES

Surrounded by dark pine forest, the sinister residents of Snake River are suspicious of outsiders. Unfortunately, they also hold all the answers. On the shortest night of the year, Tuva must fight to save her friend. But who will be there to save Tuva? It may be Midsommar in Gavrik, but this is the most chilling episode yet in the acclaimed Scandi thriller series from British writer Will Dean.

My Review

I jumped at the chance to be involved with this tour! after all its book 3! If you have missed out on the authors previous books in this series then you have a treat to come, both "Dark Pines" and "Red Snow" are fantastic!

There is just (almost!) enough in this story to be a standalone but with previous books been of such calibre I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series.

So here we settle in to the 3rd in the series and I am thrilled to report this book is outstanding and if anything the best so far!

We are back with Tuva, and after moving away from Gavrik she is doing everything she can to settle in to her new role and new area, when a phone call changes everything.

Her Friend Tammy is missing and this one phone call pulls Tuva all the way back home to help in the search, back home its like she has never been away in good and bad ways. Add to this Gavrik's curious set of town characters, some recurring and known to us like old friends and others brand new to the series, Tuva hits the ground running in the hunt for her friend refusing to give and inch to those who are not taking this matter as seriously as they should, until another women goes missing.

This whole read is packed with mystery and intrigue, I flew through this read as the tension was palatable and the fact I enjoy these characters so much and I have to say I would be hard pressed to recommend a read or series more that described northern Sweden or the Swedish forests any better, the descriptions are beautiful, so well done its like you can almost feel it, its just one of my favourite aspects of this authors work.

But if i am honest it's the character of Tuva that I adore, I find her strength and stubborn attitude awesome, and I love how the author writes her thoughts and emotions, particular in regards to her deafness. Through this you feel so very involved in Tuvas mind throughout the events, even though she terrifies and frustrates me in some of the stuff she gets involved in!

Book 3 has lived up to a surpassed all that has come before and I for one cannot wait to read the next!
