When Ella and Jem meet, the physical resemblance is uncanny, but their lives couldn’t be more different.
One is from a tiny island in a deprived Northern community – pretty much the back of beyond – where she has no job, no boyfriend, limited prospects.
The other is a London socialite, an aspiring actress living in a multimillion-pound mansion. By all appearances, she’s living a charmed life, but she’s got some serious shit to run away from.
Both of them have. Can either hide in her double’s skin? And at what cost? Will it solve any of the problems, or merely compound them?
This is an all-too-believable, twisty, compelling story that will leave you reeling.

What a fresh, original and captivating debut, based around the fascinating concept of dopplegangers.
MeetYourDouble is the latest social media gimmicky App, all you have to do is upload your photo, easy as that and the App will find your doppleganger.
I'm sure we have all had moment where we say family or friends look like a certain celebrity, kind of if you squint! in a dark room! but MeetYourDouble takes this concept one step further.
Not only do you see a photo of a person in the world who looks like you, but you can talk to them and even meet them, in real life. Ella and Jem are matched together on the site. They look scarily alike but their lives could not be more different. Ella living on a island of the coast of Cumbria in a windswept caravan, cold, lonely with no money Ella is board and facing a bleak future.
Jem, could not have a more different existence, living it up on the party circuit She has it all wealth (thank you rich parents), knows how to use her beauty, a gaggle of amazing friends (but are they?) and a loving boyfriend (or more man of the moment?). Then Ella and Jem decide to meet after all they only look alike don't they? Will they have anything else in common? and when they realise that everyone has something to run away from, The 2 women who are both craving escape, swap lives, because whats a few days? Whats the harm? But be quite sure that by the end neither of them are prepared for the consequences of this action. An utterly riveting read, following the story of the 2 main characters, with a fresh and compelling look at the dark-side of social media, celebrity lives and mental health.
This book is an addictive read from beginning to end packed with twist and turns that throw you of balance, A stand up and take notice debut, and a new author for me that I cannot wait to read more from.
