My Review
Like many at the moment lockdown has left me in a bit of a reading slump, the heart wants to but my mind seems stuck in a rut but this book solved it all!
If you have read a book my this author in the past you know already you are in for treat. I started this read with intrige the lush red edges of the papareback seemed to call me from my bookshelf.
and by the 3rd or 4th chapter I was lost in the story my children had to ask for tea! ha! and after I was back in the read finishing and feeling quite overwhelmed in the late evening.
Anna Andews a women who at first seems to have it all a news anchor, the highlight to many viewers evening when just as suddenly her world is turn and not for the first time we learn.
back on to her old news reporters role she is tasked with reporting on a murder in the village of Blackdown where she grew up. The murder is hot news in the quiet village and DCI Jack Harper is the lead on the case, another reason for Anna to want this job over quickly Jack is her Ex husband.
As the story alternates between Anna and Jack we learn their stories and the hearbreak that lead them both to this point, but both Jack and Anna have secrets, and they are both closer to this case than either want to be but the truth will come out but at what cost?
