My Review

I was so happy when I saw this book up for release as i read and reviewed its prequal "The Mummy Bloggers" over in the summer,

and I was very excited to see what these characters would be getting up to now.

You could read this book as a standalone, but personally i would suggest reading "The Muumy Bloggers first, not only does it explain a lot of back ground to these characters but it's also bloody funny and brilliant, so why would you not!

In How To Be Perfect we delve head first back in to the world of Mommy Bloggers, and the portrayed perfect lives, perfect Instagram pictures, perfect food, yoga at dawn, perfect babies, amazing retreats and all available for you at a price and all a load of bull!

Abi is planning her and Grace's wedding and after the events of The Mummy Bloggers while her ex-husband Adrian is now living with them while trying to become an author. This means there are now all of there 6 children all living together and this brings its own upset and drama along with a questionable youtube following for one of them!

Elle, surprisingly has re built herself as a goddess and creator of the wellness empire Gurva, still portraying the perfect life with her new partner and baby girl, she sells the ideal to women who lap up her post's and merchandise.

Frances a new mum on maternity leave, suffering the worst that new parenting has to offer, postpartum depression, a baby struggling with coliac and slowly she is getting in to debt buying the crazy and costly items plugged and sold by Elle the goddess she aspires to be.

To this add Elle's wellness retreat, the Guava wellness weekend and these 3 women's lives are about to intersect in a huge way.

Holly Wainwright has done it again! what a fantastic read! This book is a dark, emotional, tragic and yet hilarious look at the world behind the perfect world shown on social media.

We all should know that influeancer's and celebrities lives are not just the glossy perfection the show us, I am dam sure that the Kardashians all have there off days, and that the cleaning guru Mrs Hinch's home or kitchen has at some point looked like a crap heap! But it is also easy to get sucked In to the idea that these portrayed lives are what you should be doing and for those like Frances in a vulnerable state it is even easier.

The authors style is just so comfortable, i was just laughing out load to myself at some parts! I have said before the way the author writes, it's like a friend is telling you the story, the women these families all intertwined to make this a compelling and thought provoking read and I for one am hoping the author will be writing a third instalment.
