"So many must die. So little time... "
Synopsis
Serial killers are secretive animals. They keep their deeds to themselves and hope never to be found.
But there’s a new man in town—a killer who warns people in advance he’s going to kill them, then does it, in a variety of unusual, even bizarre, ways.
Ex-policeman Ben Buckland wants to catch this man not because he’s on the list … but because his 15-year-old daughter is. And that’s just not fair.
Especially when the killer has sent out warnings to several hundred people …
My Review
Imagine going about your daily routine as normal when you hear the letter box rap, collecting the mail you see a letter addressed to you, inside you find a note and from what you know and what you read your now terrified as you are now a possible victim of a chilling and vicious serial killer...
I May Kill You starts with letter that becomes known as The Note, it lists wrongs and dislikes and ending with the words I MAY KILL YOU
And I was hooked what a start!
This story told from 2 perspectives, firstly Peter a serial killing mastermind who has sent The Note to hundreds of people, they have no connection to each other they seem to be sent aat random.
You see this is Peters project, he terriflys and creates panic in hundreds of peoples lives as he starts to kill people who have recived it.
Then we have Ben Buckland an ex police officer, he lost everything after having an affiar hisfmaily his job and any real life, he is struggling through with a parttime security job and feeling sorry for himself. but when Bens daughter recives The Note, nothing will stop him trying to discover who is behind it and these killings
but as Peter becomes more unhinged on this killing spree, more terrifying, letting nothing stand in his way, he is leading the police on a merry dance and loving it.
But what is Peters real plan? and when Ben starts taunting him is Ben really helping his daughter or putting her in more danger?
This book was absolutley enthralling, creepy chilling and a fantasic take on the serial killer genre, I really got these characters Peter was solid in the way a terrifying serial killer character can be and Ben was for all his mistakes relatable and I was rooting for him.
The perfect serial killer crime read, complex, facinating and thrilling everything you want in a read like this, it hooked me from the start and did not let go!
