My Review
A body is found on a beach... and we are left with this lingering through the rest of the tale.
In this story we join the Flowers family one year on from the devastating loss of 3 year old Ruby-May. we know that Ruby has died but what happened?
The story is written from the perspectives of Amy, and her younger brother, Nick.
Its is Nick that suggests that they all go on holiday for the Anniversary to heal and build bridges as over the past 12 months many have not spoken lock and trapped in there own grief guilt and blame.
This book is wonderfully written in that its was so emotional the feelings of grief and the emotions surrounding this and the characters shone through.
Amy, Ruby-May's mother tries to just get through the days without her daughter, and Nick on the trip finds himself on a mission to find out what really happened that day.
The book jumps from present day on the trip to the past as well as the key day in question when Ruby May went missing and as with most family's everyone has secrets its just what are they and who is hiding the most.
The book has many twist and revelations and with the opening lingering thought the whole book a devoured the last 100 pages as I just Had to know the ending!
