My Review
At the start of 2020 I was captivated by this authors debut "Damaged",
see that review here : https://booksandemma.wixsite.com/blog/post/damaged-dan-scottow
I was again enthralled by this 2nd novel "Girl A" so when the chance to read and review his next offering "Scars" came along I jumped at the chance! and boy was I not disappointed!
In Scars you are hooked from the outset a blindingly terrifying start leads us to following Lucy's journey as she starts a new job in a remote house in Scotland living with couple Diana and Richard.
Lucy is soon unsettled with Diana, an artist, and her severely disabled husband, Richard who Lucy is here to care for, A strange couple, Lucy questions herself are they just acentric or is there more to them and the secrets they hold?
I love books that start with a bang, a shock your already hooked and thrown off your feet before the true tale starts! I already knew this was a read that I could not put down I had to know the truth!
The story unfolds masterfully building on the shock, dripping into some uneasy and spine tingling tension then developing into a creepy, chilling around thriller
Dan Scottows work surprisingly just gets better and better I say this as every book I have read I have found to be fantastic I think how can he top this and he does!
From the characters to the settling, I was engaged and felt almost like I knew them and the area! to the twists and turns of the tale that hit so perfectly.
This author is already a master of this genre and an absolute must buy for any psychological thriller fan!
