" A Horror Classic..Now A Major Netflix Movie.. "

Synopsis

A film adaptation of The Influence is in production in Spain and will be released in June 2019.

Queenie is the ageing matriarch of the Faraday family, and even death can’t break her hold over her eleven-year-old granddaughter Rowan.

She’s buried with a locket that contains a lock of Rowan’s hair and by the time anyone sees what effect the ghostly influence on Rowan is having, it may be too late for her.

My Review

This book was a real journey in to a horror classic.

Re-released in line with the new Netflix film based on the book, this intense tale of horror, possession and fear slowly burned and amp-ted up the creepiness and the jump factor!

Rowan, oh how i felt for this character, unwanted and feeling nothing but a burned she is sadly making her way through childhood when her great- aunt Queenie dies

Rowan did love her great aunt but to other family members Queenie cased a lot of problems and misery so they are quite happy she has now gone.

But Queenie was not ready to die and she makes plans to possess poor Rowen after she finally dies.

Slowly Queenie manipulates Rowan and takes over her body bit by bit, can rowan fight back? can she overcome Queenie's power, and with Rowen's body as a vessel what horror can Queenie cause now?

This story felt original and yet classic in it background with child possession and horrors like the exorcist and The Conjuring.

This Is a terrifying and intense read filled with almost movie like jump scares and real fear. The story slow burns through the manipulation and then takes off at speed through the last 3rd as it build to a thrilling climax.

Mr Campbell is known as one of the best horror writers in Britain and wow! this book shows why in every way!
