"Someones watching you.. "

Synopsis

He watches.

A woman runs alone in the woods. She convinces herself she has no reason to be afraid, but she’s wrong. A predator is stalking the women of Grant County. He lingers in the shadows, until the time is just right to snatch his victim.

He waits.

A decade later, the case has been closed. The killer is behind bars. But then another young woman is brutally attacked and left for dead, and the MO is identical.

He takes.

Although the original trail has gone cold – memories have faded, witnesses have disappeared – agent Will Trent and forensic pathologist Sara Linton must re-open the cold case. But the clock is ticking, and the killer is determined to find his perfect silent wife….

My Review

Well I don't think I have ever been more excited to be on a blog tour! Karin Slaughter is my favourite author of all time!

She does not know it but me and Karin have history, her books have been part of my life since I was twenty years old and I stubbled along "Kisscut" in a Waterstones on a break in Southend!

from here my obsession started I read back to the previous "blindsighted" and was hooked for her out I have read a Karin slaughter book almost every year since.

So, this blog tour seems amazingly fitting that this book represents 20 books in 20 years and I was thrilled to review this book but more so as I had early access to a read, I have been dying for!

Even more so as the other bloggers on this tour and myself were treated to a zoom call with the author herself, to say i was fan girling was an understatement but i was absolutley amazing to thank this wonderful women for all the entertainment she has provided me over the past 20 years!

For any of you that might love this oppotunity TODAY (Friday 26TH June) at 1pm, Karin will be taking part in a Q&A on Twitter for #HarperFictionFriday, so if you wanted to ask a question or just join the live Q&A join @SlaughterKarin and the @fictionpubteam Twitter channels

The Silent Wife is the 10th in this bestselling series featuring Georgia Bureau of Investigation, (GBI) special agent Will Trent and this read marks a real cross over as we head back to Grant County with the addition of his girlfriend Sara Linton a medical examiner who is now working for the GBI as well and the confrontations of the past this felt just as much a part of the old Grant country series as the Will Trent era.

With an opening chapter that left my heart racing, an attack on a young woman. we join Will Trent and his partner Faith Mitchell are on their way to Phillips State Prison, off the back of rioting, the prison is in lock-down as an inmate had been murdered, was it just a part of the riot or was this murder something more?

Sara is also already at the scene and while there they receive word that a fellow inmate has information on the murder. Daryl Nesbitt claims he is innocent of the viscous attacks on a number of women in Grant County and more so he claims he was set up by the police chief at the time Jeffrey Tolliver and fellow officer Lena Adams.

More intriguing and more complex to those that do not know the series Jeffrey is now dead but he was Sara Linton's husband.

The inmate has kept a log, newspapers and such to keep track of other victims of the killer for the crime he has been falsely imprisoned for, he mentions the women body found the previous day from the haunting first chapter, the killer is still at large and he can prove it!  As Will investigates the case he realises quickly that he will have to go back to the start, old witness and old places we are treated to a trip back to Grant Country and some chapters blending perfectly with the case see's Jeffrey Tolliver in the past when he was alive and when he was the chief.

To those picking up a Karin Slaughter book for the first time you are in for a treat of a complex yet intriguing case in a thrilling hunt for a prolific serial killer.  For those fans of the series we get the additional treat of visiting Grant County and old characters also witnessing Jeffery and Sara at different points in their lives we see events we have not been privy to before.

But "The Silent Wife" is not for the faint of heart as always, this author's read is just as brutal and shocking as the crimes committed within, nothing is held back and as always, the author gives us a killer that is just as determined as he is savage.

An absolutely thrilling instalment in this series one not to be missed! as always with this author I cannot wait for the next!
