My Review
Lexi Rees is one of the most favourite authors at the moment for my mini twist boy's we have been thrilled and charmed by her captivating stories
and we have been entertained and had so much fun with her last interactive book The Dragon Book club
but Wicked Writing Skills surpassed even that! my lad have had fun over the past few weeks taking turns in completing tasks within the book
Aimed at 7 to 11 year olds but my 13 year old has also enjoyed! having a guiding writing book full of ideas and inspiration made for some very inspired writing, and i found this book was accessible for many age group and abilities, my youngest had Autism and my eldest Asperger's and Dyslexia and they both found this book fun and its enabled them to compete some lovely work! fabulous for 2 very very reluctant writers!
My Middle son loves writing but he struggles about what to write the activities encouraged his creative juices to get flowing and he was very proud of the work he made!
With various sections like, debates, newspaper writing, potions, social media, zombies! blogs and even sections talking about marketing and publishing, this is the perfect book for any young inspiring writers out there and even more so for reluctant writers just needing the inspiration too! And for any teachers out there this would be an amazing addition to the class room!
This books is a HUGE in size at least A4 size with over 120 pages jam packed with fun activities! and I could not believe Price on Amazon of only £7.68!! This is the perfect Christmas gift! I ordered 3 copies for my nephew and friends children and just ordered 2 more as extra stocking fillers!
I honestly do not this over this Winter you will find a children's book that is as fun and engaging as this!!
Author Bio
Lexi Rees was born in Scotland but now lives down south. She writes action-packed adventures brim full of witch-doctors, fortune-tellers, warriors and smugglers, combining elemental magic with hints of dystopia. She also writes fun activity books for children. Her fantasy adventure, Eternal Seas, was awarded a "loved by" badge from LoveReading4Kids. The sequel, Wild Sky, is available now. She's passionate about developing a love of reading and writing in children and, as well as her Creative Writing Skills workbook, she has an active programme of school visits and other events, is a Book PenPal for three primary schools, and runs a free online #kidsclub and newsletter which includes book recommendations and creative writing activities. In her spare time, she's a keen crafter and spends a considerable amount of time trying not to fall off horses or boats.
